Kyle is a self-employed entrepreneur in Seattle, Washington. He has very little formal baseball experience above the college level, and was not a particularly great player in his teenage years. He is slavishly devoted to the sport of baseball – dedicating himself to become the best amateur pitcher he can be, a sabermetrician who follows in the footsteps of Bill James and Baseball Prospectus, and one who eventually hopes to work in the front office of a major league team.

Kyle works out on a regular basis at 24 Hour Fitness, has several hitting and pitching coaches at Strike Zone in SODO, and a dedicated baseball workout partner in Jacob Staff. He is primarily focused on increasing power at the plate and fastball velocity.

Current Pitch Mix:

  1. Four-Seam Maxline Fastball
  2. Two-Seam Pronation Curve
  3. Two-Seam Gyroball
  4. Circle Change

You may have come across the site through searches for the gyroball or Japanese pitchers – Kyle was instructed by Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus on how to throw the gyroball and continues to work and refine the mechanics of the pitch.

Height: 6′0″
Weight: 170lbs.
Bats: S
Throws: R
Position: P/IF/OF

Jacob is a utility player for the Cascade Red Sox, returning for his third PSSBL season. He resides in downtown Seattle and works full time as a grocer. Raised in suburban Michigan, Jacob played baseball in High School until his sophmore year, when his vocal talents led him away from the diamond… He eventually earned a vocal scholarship to his alma mater Grand Valley State University, majoring in International Relations; but no baseball. After a move from the midwest to Seattle, the opportunity to play again presented itself through the northwest’s fantastic amateur leagues. He is constantly striving for learning, with the hopes of teaching one day.

Current Pitch Mix:

  1. Two-Seam Fastball
  2. Overhand Curve
  3. Hard Slider
  4. Two-Seam Gyroball
